MAWCast

MAWCast vs Radio.co: prices, limits and what each does

MAWCast plans start at €1.99 a month, and Radio.co's start at about €30.53 (converted from $35 at the ECB rate of 22 September 2026). The entry plans are not like for like: MAWCast Starter allows 100 listeners at 128 kbps, and Radio.co Lite allows 500 at 192 kbps. Radio.co also has things MAWCast does not offer, such as listener apps, recording and track reporting. If you need those, Radio.co is the better choice. If you need AutoDJ, a schedule, live shows, listener analytics and a public page on a small budget, MAWCast costs less.

Radio.co facts were checked on radio.co/pricing on 22 September 2026. Radio.co sets its prices in US dollars, so the euro amounts below are approximate, converted at the ECB reference rate of 22 September 2026 (1 EUR = 1.1463 USD). MAWCast prices include VAT; we did not verify how Radio.co's prices treat tax.

How do the prices and limits compare?

The two tables below are kept separate on purpose. The plans do not line up tier for tier, so pairing them would suggest an equivalence that is not there.

How to read the two tables:

  • For one station and 500 listeners at once, MAWCast Air is €4.99 and Radio.co Lite is ≈ €30.53. Air's live quality is 320 kbps and it has 25 GB of storage. Lite streams at 192 kbps and has 2 GB.
  • The cheapest plan with unlimited listeners is Broadcast (€9.99, 3 stations) on MAWCast and Premium (≈ €173.60) on Radio.co.
  • MAWCast Starter (€1.99) is smaller than any plan on Radio.co's pricing page: 100 listeners at 128 kbps.

MAWCast is not the cheapest hosting you can buy. Budget stream hosts have entry plans that cost less than some MAWCast plans. What MAWCast offers for its price is AutoDJ, a schedule, a public page, live listener analytics, broadcast history and a Discord assistant in one product.

What do both do?

Neither includes a music licence on its standard plans. Licensing is covered further down.

What does Radio.co have that MAWCast does not?

  • Track reporting (TTSL).
  • Recording of live broadcasts and voice tracking, from Standard.
  • AI voices (Voice Studio), from Standard.
  • iOS and Android apps and an Alexa skill. These are included from Plus. On Standard they are paid add-ons: apps ≈ €30.53 a month (from $35) and Alexa ≈ €8.72 a month (from $10).

Who should choose which?

Choose Radio.co if you need track reporting for licensing bodies, listener apps or a smart-speaker skill, recording or voice tracking, AI voices, or a service with a long track record.

Choose MAWCast if you run one to a few stations with AutoDJ and scheduled live shows, your community is on Discord, your budget is a few euros a month, and you want listener analytics and a free desktop broadcaster (MAWCast Studio) included.

Switching from Radio.co: what it involves

  • Music. Upload your library to MAWCast from your own copies of the files, within your plan's storage. MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A and FLAC are accepted, up to 150 MB per file. Formats other than MP3 are converted to MP3 at 320 kbps.
  • Playlists and schedule. There is no importer. You recreate them by hand in Control.
  • Live shows. Connect the encoder you already use with the details from Control.
  • Addresses. Your station page moves to <station>.mawcast.com and the stream address changes. Replace Radio.co players on your website with the MAWCast web player, and update directory listings and any apps that point at the old stream.
  • Overlap. Keep Radio.co running until the new station has been tested, and check Radio.co's cancellation terms on its own site.

Music licensing

Neither service includes a music licence on its standard plans. Radio.co says the customer is responsible for licences, and it lists licensing brokering only on its custom tier. MAWCast does not provide licences. See what the subscription does not cover. This is general information, not legal advice.
