Overview

What the schedule is for, and what it is not.

Last updated September 20261 min read

The schedule is your station's week: the programmes you announce, when they are on and who presents them. It is what the public page reads when it says what is coming up.

What a program is

A title, a start, a length, and the station it belongs to. Programmes can repeat, and each one belongs to exactly one station.

Two kinds of programme

ProgrammeWhat happens at its time
With playlistsIt takes over AutoDJ for its time slot: its playlists play from the moment it starts. If the music runs out before the slot ends, the programme decides what follows: hand the air back to the rotation, play the playlists again in order, or play them again shuffled.
Without playlists (a live slot)Nothing switches. It announces that someone intends to be on air; going live is still done with your broadcasting software. If nobody connects, the rotation carries on.
The schedule never connects your encoder

A live programme does not start your broadcasting software for you. It is what your page announces, and when the reminders go out.
