Overview
What happens when you connect, and what happens when you leave.
Two ways to go live
| Route | What it involves |
|---|---|
| MAWCast Studio | Included free with every plan, knows your stations, captures a device, the whole machine or one application. Nothing to configure. |
| Another encoder | Five values from Control, typed into the program's Icecast settings. |
Either way MAWCast detects the connection itself — there is no button to press in Control first.
Coming off air
Disconnect, and listeners fall back to AutoDJ if rotation is enabled. If it is not, the station is silent until something connects.
What is recorded
Each broadcast becomes a session: who was on, when it started and ended, and what the audience did while it ran — its listener timeline, peak and average listeners. Sessions are kept on every plan. See Broadcast sessions.
Tip
Use a wired connection for anything that matters. Most dropped broadcasts are Wi-Fi.
