General settings
A station's name, its description and its picture — and the one thing that cannot change.
What you can change
| Setting | Where it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Control, your public page, and the title listeners see in their player. |
| Description | Your public page and the station card in Control. |
| Photo | The station card, and the page where you use it. |
These are edited from Stations — the pencil on a station's row — and they apply the moment they are saved.
What cannot change
Your station's address is made from its name when the station is created, and it is three things at once: the public page, the mountpoint your encoder connects to, and the AutoDJ mountpoint underneath it. Renaming the station does not move any of them — listeners keep the address they were given and your encoder keeps working.
If the address is wrong, the answer is a new station rather than a rename. See Create your first station.
Rotation
Whether AutoDJ fills the air between broadcasts is a station setting too, and the one most worth checking: a station with rotation off is silent whenever nobody is connected. See AutoDJ.
