Quick start

From an empty workspace to a station that plays on its own and takes you live.

Last updated September 20261 min read

Six steps. The first four can be done in one sitting; the last two are what you will come back to every week.

  1. Create the station

In Control, open Stations and choose New station. The name is yours; the address is made from it and cannot be changed afterwards, so pick the one you want to give out.

  2. Upload media

Media Library takes your music, jingles and station IDs. Titles and artists are read from the files where they carry tags; anything missing can be edited afterwards.

  3. Build a playlist

In AutoDJ, group what you uploaded into a playlist and choose whether it plays in order or shuffled.

  4. Switch AutoDJ on

With rotation enabled the station goes on air by itself and stays there. Nothing else has to be running.

  5. Connect your broadcasting software

Take the connection details from the station and put them into your encoder. When it connects, you take over the air from AutoDJ.

  6. Publish your page

The Public Page editor is where the page listeners land on is built. Saving it publishes it.

Tip

Steps 2 to 4 are what make a station survive the week you are busy. A station with no rotation is silent whenever you are not at the desk.
