Introduction
What MAWCast is, what it runs for you, and what you still decide.
MAWCast runs the infrastructure a radio station needs — the stream server, the rotation that fills the air between shows, the page listeners land on — and leaves you the part that is actually radio: what goes out, and when.
Everything in this documentation refers to one station. A workspace can hold several, and each one keeps its own address, media, schedule, page and audience.
The parts
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
Control | The workspace: stations, media, schedule, audience, settings. |
AutoDJ | Plays your rotation whenever nobody is broadcasting live. |
MAWCast Studio | The desktop application for going live. Included free with every plan. |
Public page | The page at your station address, with the player on it and an optional listener chat. |
Sessions | The record of each broadcast: who was on, what played, and its listener timeline, peak and average. |
Analytics | Live listeners while you are on air, and your audience over time. |
MAW Assistant | Your station from Discord: status, alerts, reminders and questions about your audience. |
Team | The people who run the station with you, and what each of them can do. |
How the air works
A station has two mountpoints: its own, and an AutoDJ one underneath it. AutoDJ holds the second; the first is where a broadcaster connects. While nobody is connected, the station mount falls back to AutoDJ, so listeners hear the rotation. The moment a broadcaster connects, they are the station.
Listeners never change address. The fallback happens inside the stream server.
