Connection errors

Authentication failed

The username must be source and the password must be the current one for this station. See Invalid stream credentials.

Mount already in use

Icecast gives a mount to whoever connected first. Disconnect the other encoder — or the one you forgot on a second machine — and reconnect. See Mountpoint already in use.

Connection refused or timing out

• Check the port. It is not 80 or 443.
• Check the protocol: Icecast 2, not Shoutcast.
• Try another network. Some venue and office networks block outbound streaming ports.

It connects, then drops repeatedly

That is usually upstream bandwidth. Lower the bitrate in your encoder, or move off Wi-Fi.
