Monitoring

The figures around the button, and what each one is telling you.

Coming soon

MAWCast Studio is not released yet. This page describes how it will work; until then, connect your own encoder (see Connect your software).

Everything worth knowing while you are on air is in one window. The point of the layout is that none of it needs a second one.

The state

Top barMeans
READYNot broadcasting.
CONNECTINGStudio is reaching the server, or reconnecting after a drop.
LIVEOn air, with the number of listeners beside it.
ERRORThe last attempt failed; the reason is under the buttons and in the console.
RECA recording is running.

Above GO LIVE

FigureReading it
UptimeHow long this broadcast has been on air. It survives a reconnection.
BitrateThe bitrate set in Streaming output, or LOSSLESS for FLAC and WAV.
ListenersHow many are connected right now, read back from the server while you are live.

The machine

Along the bottom of the Studio tab, five gauges:

GaugeShows
CPUThe processor, all cores.
GPUThe graphics card’s 3D engine, when Windows reports it.
RAMMemory in use, with used and total GB.
DISKHow busy the recordings drive is, with its free space. It turns yellow under 10 GB free and red under 2 GB.
PINGThe time to open a connection to the server, in ms. No response means it did not answer.

A gauge turns yellow at 60% and red at 85%. They are context, not the subject: a spike is worth noticing, a steady figure is not.

Read ping and the meters together

A rising ping with moving meters usually means the network, not Studio. Flat meters with a normal ping mean the source has gone quiet.

Notifications

The bell in the top bar keeps the last eight events, newest first: connected, connection lost and reconnecting, errors, broadcast ended, recording started and saved, account linked and signed out. A dot marks new ones; the check beside each clears it. The list is kept until Studio closes.
