Schedule conflicts

What happens when two programmes want the same hour.

Last updated September 20261 min read

MAWCast does not silently refuse an overlap, and it does not silently allow one. When the programme you are saving runs into another, the form names the one in the way, with its times, and offers both ways out.

The two ways out

ChoiceWhat it does
Move afterSets your start time to the end of the programme in the way, keeping the length.
Schedule anywayAccepts the overlap. Both programmes stay on the calendar.
What airs when two programmes share an hour

The one that starts later. An overlap is not an error, but it is a decision — the programme that began earlier is the one that gets covered.

While dragging

Moving a programme in the week view marks the collision as it happens, so you can see the clash before you let go rather than after you save.

The schedule does not switch your encoder

A conflict is about what your page announces, not about what is on air. What is on air is whoever is connected — see Mountpoints and fallback.
