Publishing
Saving is publishing.
There is no separate publish step. What is on the screen is what is on the page: pressing Save writes your changes and they are live.
Unsaved changes
While the editor and the published page differ, a notice sits over the preview. It is there through the full-page preview as well — the moment you are most likely to be changing something is the worst moment for the editor to go quiet.
If a save is refused
The same notice carries the reason in red. A refusal is usually a preview track that has since been deleted, or a logo address that is no longer a link.
