Your first broadcast

From opening Studio to being on air, in the order the window is laid out.

Coming soon

MAWCast Studio is not released yet. This page describes how it will work; until then, connect your own encoder (see Connect your software).

  1. Link MAWCast

Press Link MAWCast in the top bar. MAWCast opens in your browser and asks you to allow Studio; allow it, and Studio comes back to the front with Connected to MAWCast. Your stations are now in Servers. Broadcasting to a server outside MAWCast instead? Add it in Servers — see Servers.

  2. Choose the station

Click its card in Servers, or pick it from the active server dropdown on the Studio tab. The card shows ACTIVE.

  3. Choose your audio source

Under Audio input: Device, System, or one Application. This is the decision that most often goes wrong — see Audio capture.

  4. Set the level

Play the loudest part of your set and watch the L/R meters: keep the bars in the green, touching yellow only on peaks. Adjust with Input gain. Studio captures as soon as a source is chosen, so you can do this before going live.

  5. GO LIVE

The button reads CONNECTING, then STOP STREAM; the top bar says LIVE and the figures start moving: uptime, bitrate, listeners.

  6. Read the console once

The first time you connect, read the console. It prints the settings it actually used — type, codec, bitrate, sample rate, mountpoint, user, TLS — which is the fastest way to catch a wrong assumption.

Stopping

STOP STREAM ends the broadcast, and stops a recording that is running with it. Closing Studio while you are live or recording asks first: Keep going or Stop and quit, which saves the recording before closing.
